Indigenous & Community Relations Division

In late 2018, Grieg BC introduced a new division focusing on Indigenous & Community Relations.

Obtaining the consent of the Nations in whose territory Grieg operates, or wishes to operate in, is Grieg BC’s Indigenous & Community Relations division’s main priority.

Marilyn Hutchinson, Director of Indigenous & Community Relations

Marilyn Hutchinson joined Grieg Seafood in 2011. In her time with Grieg she has been responsible for various departments including Human Resources, Regulatory and Certification.

She now oversees the company’s Indigenous and Community Relations division focused on establishing relationships with local governments, coastal communities, and developing long-term benefits agreements with First Nations.

OD Hansen, Director of Reconciliation

Orland “OD” Hansen, who is of Inuit-Danish descent, is one of Grieg’s most recent additions. He joined the Grieg BC family in March 2020 with over 20 years of experience in Indigenous relations in the oil and gas industry.

The vision of approaching reconciliation from within the company is what sold Hansen on taking the job and is ultimately what took him away from Calgary and the oil-and-gas industry he’s known for 30 years.
